Business Vision, Strategy and Commitment to Make Customers Succeed

Bill McDermott in thisinterview reveals the strategy that has enabled SAP to make its customers succeed, starting with the recognition of a critical need within the businesses it serves and its customers to come. The underlying driver, McDermott states, is “increasing business efficiency” for the benefit of the shareholders of SAP customers. To increase efficiency, information technology and services are provided that integrate formerly isolated business components enabling CEO’s to know much more and in real-time about what is going on throughout the corporation; This integration minimizes the executive burden by enabling “managing their businesses by exception”. McDermott also talks about the shortcomings of “best-of-breed”, the importance of business strategy, the development of his approach to business leadership, and his view of the CEO of the future.
